CEYLEIB PEOPLE “Tanyet” (U.S. Vault SLP117) 1968 This group was based in Los Angeles, California, USA. Seasoned session musicians, including Mike Deasy (guitar), Larry Knetchel (keyboards) and Joe Osborn (bass), backed vocalist/guitarist Lybuk Hyd on Tanyet, a meandering set revered by some commentators as a classic of the psychedelic era. Deasy’s son, Sean, played drums and several tracks featured guitarist Ry Cooder, which has increased its value in the collectors’ market….  This album is mainly a bunch of psychedelic, raga-rock compositions revolving around the sitar and mixed with plenty of other elements and lovely instrumentation to create a brilliant product. These pieces run together, and the album gives the listener an enormously satisfying experience when all said and done. With some good speakers and the right mindset (and maybe some acid if you’re into that sort of thing), this album creates an amazing atmosphere of sounds and scenes. Good stuff… Pretty nice copy VG+/Vg++ disc.
