Aerosmith got too into the drugs to consistently put out classics, but their first four albums were enough to make them one of the heavy rock greats. This and Rocks were at the tail end of the group’s peak, but the end was also the beginning of Aerosmith’s place as hard rock legends. Aerosmith already wrote some classic tracks, but on Toys in the Attic there are more than on any of the previous albums. There’s of course the singles “Sweet Emotion” and “Walk This Way” but there’s also the title track, “No More No More” and “Round and Round”. The only song here that isn’t amazing is “Big Ten Inch Record”, which is a cover of a blues song but Aerosmith don’t execute it as well as their other blues covers. Aerosmith took over Led Zeppelin as the best hard rock band in the world with Toys in the Attic, but they only stay excellent for a short time afterward.
