LED ZEPPELIN “II” (U.S.ATLANTIC SD 8236.) 1969 The gatefold cover is in VG+ condition (glare is from camera), minor wear, seams are intact though the bottom seam has a two inch split in the middle, outer seam (spine) is readable. The record is in very good condition (VG++). The second album from one of the worlds most iconic heavy rock bands. Led Zeppelin’s debut album was great, and this the follow up album offers equal quality. In fact if you wanted to bottle that late sixties feeling, you need to look no further than these two albums. They offer the bridge from the rock music of the late sixties through to what was to follow in the early seventies. This essentially marks these two albums as classics of their era, and also classics of all-time. What I particularly admire about Led Zeppelin Two is the variety. The album kicks off with ‘Whole Lotta Love’, with that classic rock riff and then ebbs and flows through a very interesting variety of sounds. Check out the beautiful ‘What Is And What Should Never Be’ and the delicate ‘Thank You’. And then we return to another rock belter in ‘Heartbreaker’. And then the fantastic ‘Living Loving Maid’ and ‘Ramble On’. And the album ends with the very bluesy ‘Bring It On Home’
Essential listening?? – oh yes!!
