From an underground rock lover’s perspective, this is clearly their best effort. It sounds quite obviously more the work of the band, and much less the work of those blasted producers. This one is comparatively heavy, male vocal pop, with many more darker moods than found on their debut, or any of their other LP’s, for that matter. This one contains almost no horns, and practically no comm production to fluff it into the cotton candy sound that is their typical fare. Great lp for a cheap price!
