Phoenix was the first and best progressive rock band to come from Romania. Lead vocals are very strong and impressive and the sound is a mix of progressive rock, romanian folk music, with a touch of psychedelia. This double album “cantofabule” is their best and still a cult classic in the east european rock scene of the seventies. This massive double album from 1975 is easily the most famous work by this legendary Romanian progressive rock group. Now this is a pretty unique mix of strong material. The compositions are mostly very interesting and the instrumental work is high quality.
