STEPPENWOLF “AT YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY”(Canadian RCA Victor DS 50052) The record is in very good condition (VG++). The die cut gatefold cover is in very good condition minor wear, seams are intact, outer seam (spine) is readable. VG++ This one was one of the first vinyls I ever bought. Pretty entertaining record by Steppenwolf even if I can’t say that I love this album. Some of the highlights include “Don’t Cry”, “It’s Never Too Late”, “Jupiter Child” and “Rock Me”. To me Steppenwolf was a very under rated band all time. They have 3 of the greatest rock songs “Born to be Wile”, “Magic Carpet Ride” and “Monster”
Although several of Steppenwolf’s songs – including their biggest hit “Born to Be Wild” – were written by Mars Bonfire, he was never actually a Steppenwolf member per se. However, he was a member of The Sparrow, an earlier incarnation of the band. The band initially split up in 1972 and reformed in 1974, then split up again in 1978 and reformed in the eighties under the name John Kay & Steppenwolf.
