TEA COMPANY “COME AND HAVE SOME TEA WITH” (U.S.SMASH) 1968 CVR VG+ SOME WEAR TO COVER, DISC IS VG++(EX) WITH ONLY A FEW LITE MARKS
The Tea Company strike a balance between West Coast flower child idealism and East Coast Velvet Underground style noise rock, with ‘hey it’s the 60s’ experimentation tacked on as a bonus, like “Water Sound Effects” which does exactly what it says on the tin.
“Love Could Make the World Go Round” is full-on in po-faced self-righteousness (now with added Lennon/McCartney and Dylan glorification!), and is exactly the sort of thing Zappa took aim at on We’re Only In It For The Money. And in my opinion this psychedelic beauty can effortless be appreciated without smoking pot.
