THE FREE POP ELECTRONIC CONCEPT “A NEW EXCITING EXPERIENCE” (BELGIAN PALLETTE) 1969 M-/M-
The Free Pop Electronic Concept offers a mix of psychedelia and some early electronic music elements. There are also some visible funk influences in this album. The record is totally instrumental. Ridiculously cool album of electronic freakouts on top of groovy instrumentals. Seriously hard grooving stuff, some horn riffing, ripping drumkit work, hot organ, the works! And the electronic stuff is total outer space craziness with that primitive 60s electronic music sound. Unreal. Hard to believe it exists. One of the holy grails of weird rare groove. From a Belgian group that was supposedly well-known. Similar to Love Machine’s album in overall sound and juxtapositional bizarreness, but way tighter, harder, and hotter. WITH JESS and JAMES
