Procession was a jazz-tinged progressive pop band, formed in Melbourne, Australia in October 1967.
The group officially disbanded in September 1969.The charming pop lead off ‘You Me’ was probably an album single with its radio friendly melodies. The best track is the psych laced ‘Mind Magician’, which I could have seen as a B-side – it’s up-tempo and quite catchy. Other notable songs: ‘Essentially Susan’, ‘American Citizen’ and ‘Automobile’. The closing ‘Anthem’ has some Beatles influences. The US release cover artwork has a more psych theme.
