Description

TIDE “Almost Live ” (U.S. Mouth) 1971  Much varied lp that’s quite likable and under valued as a rule. Here is a SEALED copy!

First song on side two is a hard blues rock burner with riffing guitars that sounds like a cross between Josefus and Soup, then there’s some prog and some rural rock a la early 70s Grateful Dead. Side one is jazzier, but still this is an interesting little-known LP.
With a quite varied semi-comm sound, the styles presented on this range from prog, to jazz, to rock, to fusion, and even a few funk moves as well, all with a garage flavor featuring guitar and flute. Some of the rock mat’l is rather hard. The reason they titled it ‘Almost’ Live, is because the original intent was to record the album live at a local watering hole, but a tornado dashed their plans. The proceeded to perform the exact same track list live in studio the next day.
