STEPPENWOLF “MONSTER” (U.S.DUNHILL) 1969 CVR/DISC VG+ SOME AGE WEAR..DISC HAS A FEW LITE MARKS BUT PLAYS WELL….I believe this is their best long play. It is full of well written adult songs that are more socially involved than any of their other earlier albums. “Monster”/ “Suicide”/”America” is a monster and a sincere and honest anti-war tune that rates with ELP’s “Lucky Man” and the Groundhog’s “Soldier. [ ” Amerika where are ya now, don’t you care about your sons and daughters ” ]? Doesn’t sound so powerful now, but at the height of the Viet Nam war in 1969, this tune epitomized what rock meant to the tribes. Peace!
