MERRY AIRBRAKES “Same” (U.S. St. George International) 1973 The cover is a generic white outer sleeve in VG+ condition. No splits or tears, but definite age, wear at the corners and some flaking on the seams. The design and title on the front cover were hand-drawn by Mr. Homans and contains an inscription to two friends, and is then signed by Mr. Homans as “Bill” (see photos). The back cover has the title of the songs hand-printed in red ink. It was not uncommon for Mr. Homans to use this type of homemade cover, which he then gave to his friends. Disc is VG++ some scuffs but overall nice. Most of the band’s members were Vietnam-veterans, but their album deserves to be reminded for all his beauty, not only for this particular. My favorite song is “Frog Song”, absolutely terrific. A mega-rarity by this Mass. band, centered around Bill Homans, with his bro on guitar, and a cadre of friends on just about everything else. The music is rural flavored, low production folk/rock, with a couple of blues oriented tracks. This is a real as it gets!
